    Description

President General George Washington At Valley Forge Magic Lantern Wood Glass Slide Antique Revolutionary War Art Print. 1700's Rare Drawing Colorized Print on Glass mounted in wood. I tried to find the artist, but haven't found his or her name yet. I used google Image search and found its actually a 1780's drawing of George Washington in solemn thought before crossing the Delaware. They also led me to the valley forge title, but I believe from the looks of it the second is the proper title.  https://historicipswich.org/2016/12/19/george-washington-returns-to-mount-vernon-christmas-eve-1783/?hcb=1
I looked a bit more and found it described as a Thanksgiving print, and described as a John C McRae engraving. He was an engraving artist active 1850-1880.  Several other people claim him as the artist or at least an engraver of these prints. Whoever actually painted or drew the picture did it a long time ago and prints seem to be hard to come by. This is an original 100+ year old print on glass, that I'm sure of. It was hand colored/tinted as well.
